Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Dear Santa Margarita Families,

 

My name is Brad Hamby and I am starting my second year as the Principal at Santa Margarita. It continues to be an honor to be a part of the Santa Margarita staff and the Marine Corps Community. As I mentioned last year, my wife and I have loved Camp Pendleton since the first time I was stationed here in 1984. Camp Pendleton has always seemed like home as I spent several years here before retiring after 20 years. It is a tremendous blessing and opportunity to be able to continue to combine my two passions, education and the Marine Corps.

 

A brief history of my experience in education: Over the past 17 years I have served the students in Oceanside as a classroom teacher in grades 3-8, an assistant principal at El Camino High School and as a principal at Santa Margarita.

As your principal, I will continue to work with the Santa Margarita teachers, parents, students, and the community to ensure that all students receive a quality education. My office door is always open. Please know that you are always welcome to come to the school for a visit, talk about a problem, or volunteer. If you would like to schedule an appointment instead of just dropping in, please call the office and we will find a time that works around your schedule.

 

Volunteers are always welcome to come help on campus before school, during lunch, and after school. We especially need the help during drop off and pick up. The lack of parking and layout of the road/parking lot makes it very frustrating. We appreciate your patience and your commitment to following the traffic pattern/rules to ensure the safety of every child. We also encourage and invite every parent to join the Parent Teachers Student Association (PTSA) and help support your school and your child’s education.
